Web6 sep. 2024 · Virtually every 4010 that has been overhauled in the last 30-35 years has had a 4020 kit installed in it. I’m not even sure where one would go to buy a kit for the original 380 cu. in. engine. I rebuilt a 4010 in about 1990 and the only kit Deere offered at that time was a 404 cu. in. kit. No machining of the block is required. Web14 jul. 2016 · We ran JD 38/3800 with 2 row 38" on a 4010, a 4020 and then a 4630. All with a 16' box behind. The 4010 was turbo'd and put out 125 hp but couldn't keep it cool if you worked that hard consistently. The 4630 seemed a little too much power as you couldn't feel it pulling down before the intake rolls plugged. A 4430/4440 should be about perfect.
