I re-torque after initial run in and then 2 or 3 times a year, it's the best way to ensure you don't lose a head gasket on a high cylinder pressure combo. Slacken and then re-torque just one stud/bolt at a time - never slacken them all or you'll allow oil/water to get on the gasket surfaces.
